5 Tips For Fall Photo Shoots

When booking an appointment in the fall, there are a few seasonal considerations that can influence your results.

Things to think about

Consider that days are shorter and light fades faster when booking your appointment. Our photographers and editors do a great job delivering quality photos no matter the light conditions, but the photos may still be affected by the time of day of the appointment.

Keep the yard clear. Have your clients remove leaves, branches, dead annual plants, and make a point to complete any seasonal pruning or landscaping tasks in order to provide a manicured look to the exterior photos.

Clean out the gutters before the shoot. Demonstrating to potential buyers that the home is well cared for is obviously important. One easy way to build some credibility with them is to make sure that gutters are not visibly choked with leaves.

Think about getting the home cleaned. Spring and summer can take a toll on the exterior or a home. In order to make sure it looks its best in photos, consider suggesting your seller wash it themselves or hire a company to complete the work before the appointment.

Seasonal decorations inside and outside the home are common in autumn. When preparing for the photoshoot, however, they should be kept tasteful and to a minimum. Large yard decorations or interior visual clutter can distract potential buyers from the home itself.
